Advertising Mail Postal Incentives
Postal incentives for advertising mail can provide a range of benefits, from encouraging first-time users to explore a relatively untapped marketing resource, to increasing advertising growth and volume of those already mailing. These incentives can also be used strategically to boost your long-term direct mail strategy and ensure timely delivery of your marketing materials.

Market Reach
Advertising Mail Growth Incentive
- Ideal for those who plan to mail higher volumes in the same period as last year.
- Minimum incremental volumes of 150,000 letter or 75,000 large letter items
- 12 month timescale
- Earn up to 20% credit depending on incremental volume of eligible mail.
- Could then lead onto Advertising Volume Commitment incentive as long as the volume retains or grows in volume after 12 months.
Testing and Innovation Scheme (TIS)
- Ideal for brands looking to innovate, test and experiment with their mail advertising.
- To qualify you must do a test mailing to 4,000 – 200,000 recipients, or 10,000 for partially addressed.
- 6 month timescale or a single one-off campaign.
- Earn up to 10% credit for those exploring a standard test
- Earn up to 15% credit for those exploring an exceptional test
- Earn up to 7% for those testing with Partially Addressed letters.
- Maximum of 1,000,000 mailing items.
First Time User Incentive
- Ideal for companies who have not explored advertising mail as part of their marketing mix before or if they have it must have been at least 24 months prior.
- To qualify you must post a minimum of 4,000 advertising mail items or 10,000 Partially Addressed Mailers.
- 12 month timescale
- Earn up to 20% in postage credits on advertising mail,
- Earn up to 7% on Partially Addressed letters
- Maximum of 1,000,000 mailing items.
Publishing Mail Incentive
Publishing Mail incentives offer discounts and rewards for those who post new titles, experiment with new mailing strategies, or increase mailing volume. Take advantage of these incentives to save on postage costs and promote your publications!
First Time User Incentive
- Ideal for those looking to retain their publishing mail volumes
- To qualify you must have mailed 250,000 items the previous year
- You must also plan to mail 95% of last years volumes this year
- 12 month timescale
- Up to 2% credit available on eligible subscription mail.

Your landing date
We will factor in print and production time alongside your ideal direct mail landing date and marketing budget. If it was a tight turn around which needed to arrive quickly, First Class postage is your best bet. However, if you’re not in a rush, Second Class postage or even economy postage could be a more cost-effective option.
Mailpack size & weight
When creating your mailing packs, it’s important to consider the size and weight of your materials. Remember that larger or heavier packs may result in higher delivery costs, so choose your formats wisely to stay within budget.
Machine readable fonts
To help keep mailing costs low, we recommend using machine-readable fonts for addresses. This allows for automatic processing of your mail, ensuring efficient delivery.
