From Door-to-Door to Digital Strategy: Bex’s Career Journey
When it comes to sales and marketing, Bex’s journey has been anything but ordinary. Starting her career at just 18 as a commission-only door-to-door fundraiser, Bex quickly discovered a natural flair for selling – but it took time to find the right industry fit.
“I started in sales when I was 18 as a commission only door to door fundraiser and soon found a passion for ‘selling’ but wasn’t sure what industry was going to suit me best.”
Her path led her through car sales, where she received some of the best training of her career. Before transitioning into recruitment – an industry where she spent eight years honing her consultative approach and building client relationships. It was this fusion of sales, communication, and people-first thinking that eventually led her to marketing. A field that combines her strengths and interests.
“I left recruitment due to industry changes and got into marketing, something I had always had an interest in due to its synergy with sales and I have never looked back.”
Bringing Business Development & Digital Marketing Expertise to Eight Group

Bex has joined Eight Group at a transformative time. As the business expanded its digital marketing offering with audits, marketing strategy and Eight Digital. Alongside SEO, email marketing, content and campaign plans. With a strong background in client relationships and understanding of digital channels, she brings fresh energy to our digital strategy and multi-channel marketing approach.

“I worked for a recruitment company which specialised in food manufacturing and there was a huge demand for temporary workers which led to me securing a contract for across 2 on-sites – a record for a BDM.”
Now, she’s channeling that same determination into supporting the growth of Eight Group’s digital services. Helping clients optimise their presence across multiple channels and build smart, effective marketing strategies that deliver measurable impact.

“Straight away I felt at home, everyone was so welcoming and made an effort to get to know me and check in on me.”

“Success looks like forming strong relationships with clients and the team and successfully growing the digital division by bringing the right clients on board.”

- Do you have any hobbies or creative outlets outside of work?
“Food. I love to eat food, cook food, watch food being cooked, visiting street food vendors, visiting fancy restaurants… literally anything food related!”
- What’s one item you can’t live without during your workday?
“Boring but my water bottle, it comes everywhere with me!”

- If you could swap jobs with someone for a day, who would it be and why?
“Anyone? A vet… I love animals and although some circumstances aren’t the best, being around different types of animals all day would be a dream for me!”
- What’s your go-to productivity hack or daily habit?
“To do lists and task lists… I’m a detail person and love to tick off things on my list.”
- If you could have dinner with any historical figure or celebrity, who would it be and why?
“Queen Victoria – she seemed to be a woman on a mission, broke traditions and reigned during a time of great economic progress. Plus she loved dogs!”
